No military option against Iran, Obama tells Israelis

US President Barack Obama admits a military reaction to Irans nuclear program would not fix the issue even with participation of the United States.

A military solution will not fix it. Even if the United States participates, it would temporarily slow down an Iranian nuclear program but it will not eliminate it, Obama told Israels Channel 2 on Monday.

He said there were facts and evidence and analysis showing that a verifiable, tough agreement is a better choice.

The US president predicted that the Israeli regime would not take unilateral action against Iran over the matter.

I wont speculate on that, he said in response to a question regarding the possibility of Israel striking Iran without informing Washington.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday repeated Tel Avivs war mongering stance in the region, calling Iran the greatest threat to Israels security.

Obamas remarks came as efforts were underway by negotiators fromIranandthe six global powers -- the US, Russia, Britain, France, China, and Germany --to clinch a comprehensive deal over Tehrans nuclear program before a self-imposed deadline set for the end of this month.
