Moscow fulfilling promises on S-300 delivery to Tehran - Iran's General

Although the exact date for the delivery of the S-300 missiles has not been announced yet, Moscow is keeping its promise to deliver the missiles to Iran soon.

Iranian General of Air DefensFarzad Esmaeili, Iran-Russia ties, Russian S-300 missile, e Base Farzad Esmayeeli said that Russia is keeping its promise to deliver the missiles before the end of this year.

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan announced in April that Tehran and Moscow have worked out an agreement on the delivery of the Russian-made S-300 air defense systems to Iran.

"The Iranian Defense Ministry is following up the contract on the delivery of the (missile) systems and Russia is also fulfilling its undertaking," Brigadier General Esmayeeli told reporters in Tehran on Friday, media reported.

The agreement was signed in January between General Dehqan and General Sergei Shoigu in a meeting in Tehran to broaden their defensive cooperation and also resolve the problem with the delivery of Russia's S-300 missile defense systems to Iran.

The two sides also agreed to broaden their defense cooperation and joint campaign against terrorism and extremism.
