Mashhad, Razavi Khorassan Prov., June 10, IRNA The Saudi pilgrims, who died of poisoning in a hotel in Mashhad on Sunday, will be buried at the compound of the holy Shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the 8th infallible household of Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH).
Mahdi Azizian, deputy custodian of Astan-e Qods, on Wednesday regretted that the pilgrims died in their spiritual journey to Mashhad to visit Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine.
He sympathized and extended condolences to the families of the Saudi pilgrims.
Four Saudi citizens died from poisoning in a hospital in Mashad, in the northeastern Iranian province of Khorasan Razavi.
The incident happened on Sunday when a group of 33 Saudi pilgrims were hospitalized with poisoning symptoms.
Four Saudi children lost their lives despite extensive treatment by Iranian medical staff.
The Saudi pilgrims were staying at a hotel in the holy city of Mashad which houses the shrine of Imam Reza, the eighth Imam of Shiite Muslims.
