Iran does not confirm news about change in venue of nuclear talks

Tehran, June 13, IRNA A source close to the Iranian nuclear negotiating team on Saturday did not confirm news about the possibility of a change in the venue of nuclear talks between Tehran and the six world powers known as the P5+1.

Although some views have been expressed in this regard, discussions for making changes in the venue of talks are not serious, the source said.

News about changing the venue of talks came after media reports that the locations of the nuclear talks in the two European countries had been targeted by spying activities.

The source said that in a protest letter, Iran's representative office has asked the Austrian Foreign Ministry to take every possible measure to remove this fault and ensure the security of nuclear talks between Iran and the P5+1.

However, he noted that if deemed necessary, changing the venue of talks can be one of the options, but he said that it is not yet on the agenda.

On Thursday, Swiss and Austrian officials said they have begun investigating reports that a computer virus linked to Israel targeted the hotels used by the delegates from Iran and the 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany).

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on Wednesday that spyware, widely believed to be used by Israeli spies, had attacked the computer systems of the hotels hosting the sensitive negotiations.

Experts at the Russian Cyber security company Kaspersky were quoted by the Journal as saying that the firm had found at the sites traces of malware believed to be used by Israel.
