Russia, Japan eager to host exhibition of Iranian handicrafts

According to Pouya Mahmoudian, an official at Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHTO), Japanese and Russian diplomats were impressed by a recent exhibition of Iranian handicrafts, held in Tehran.

Algerias ambassador to Tehran also applauded the exhibition, in which Iranian-made handicrafts were offered for sale, she added.

Iran has a long tradition of producing artisanal goods including Persian carpets, ceramics, copperware, brassware, glass, leather goods, textiles and wooden artifacts including wood inlaying --an art which consists of carving on inlaid pieces of wood and creating embossed designs on them.
