Iranian negotiators to brief parliament commission on nuclear talks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) The spokesman for the Iranian parliament's national security and foreign policy commission said a number of negotiators involved in the nuclear talks with six world powers will attend a session of the commission in coming days.

Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Nozar Shafiee said the members of Iran's negotiating team will attend a meeting with the commission on Tuesday to brief the lawmakers on the latest developments in the process of nuclear talks with the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).

Since June 17, top Iranian negotiators and deputies to foreign minister, Abbas Araqchi and Majid Takht Ravanchi, have been holding talks with European Union Deputy Foreign Policy Chief Helga Schmid in the Austrian capital of Vienna to draft the text of a comprehensive deal on Tehran's peaceful nuclear program.
Experts have been also holding tight meetings simultaneously.

This fresh round of diplomatic negotiations will continue steadily until the self-imposed deadline of June 30.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (alternatively known as the P5+1 or E3+3) are negotiating to hammer out a lasting accord that would end more than a decade of impasse over Tehran's civilian nuclear program.

On April 2, the two sides reached a framework nuclear agreement in Lausanne, Switzerland, with both sides committed to push for a final deal until the end of June.
