TEHRAN August 5(Shana)--Iran's energy ministry and the State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources (SAARES) are set to enter into a deal on enhancing generation of renewable energies, a deputy energy minister said.
Houshang Falahatian said on Tuesday that Iran plans to add 1,000mg it to power generation by renewables.
Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting with Akim Badalov, the head of SAARES, Falahatian said the agency operates under the mandate of the Azeri president.
Once sealed, Azeri companies active in the field of renewable energies will start cooperating with MAPNA group in Iran for developing projects for generation of power from renewable energy resources.
Addressing the meeting, Akim Badalov underlined the importance of reducing consumption of fossil fuels for generation of power to supply the world's ever-growing need for the commodity.
"Cooperation with Iranian companies will have economic profits for the both counties besides supplying for the electricity they need," he said.
