Kuala Lumpur, Aug 7, IRNA Chairman of Philippines National Commission of Culture and Arts Felipe De Leon hailed Iran's civilizational role in international community, saying that Iran-5+1 Group nuclear deal paved the way for further interaction between Iran and international community.
In a meeting with Iran's Ambassador in Manila Ali Asghar Mohammadi, he expressed pleasure over the emergence of the opportunity for closer interaction between Iran and the international community.
Referring to welcoming of the development by the world as well as various delegations' visits to the country, he said that different countries' interest to establish ties with Iran is important both from economic perspective as well as its political and cultural status.
Commending Iran's capacity for discourse building, De Leon said that there are few countries in the world with such a capacity despite having rich culture and history.
Touching on Iranian scientific and literary figures, he said that in a world facing crisis of meaning and content, focusing on eternal mystical works by the figures such as Molana Jalaleddin Rumi is essential.
Chairman of Philippines National Commission of Culture and Arts also voiced interest in expansion of cultural ties with Iran in the field of book translation, music, film and holding cultural weeks and arts galleries.
He also welcomed the idea of devising joint cultural and artistic programs themed 'Peace and Art'.
Iran's envoy, for his part, hailed bilateral ties, calling for using existing potentials for promoting cultural ties.
During the meeting, both sides shared views on exchanging cultural delegations, establishment of centers of Iranian studies in Philippines and holding joint meetings of the two countries thinkers and elites.
