Iran's parliament to perfectly scrutinize JCPOA: MP

TEHRAN (Tasnim) An Iranian lawmaker highlighted the laborious process of scrutiny the finalized text of a lasting nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers will have to undergo in the parliament.

The JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) needs to be scrutinized and the nations representatives will also work on it carefully, Mohammad Saleh Jokar, member of the parliament's national security and foreign policy commission, told Tasnim on Saturday.
Voicing the parliaments seriousness in the nuclear issue, he said certain points in the JCPOA need to be strengthened.
While the text of one lasting nuclear deal between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) needs to be ratified by both Iran's Parliament and the US Congress, diplomats have already made it clear that the document could be either endorsed or rejected, and no amendment or revision could take place.
The Iranian parliament has plans to from a "special commission" for reviewing the 159-page nuclear deal.
Finalized on July 14 in Vienna, the deal will subject the parties to comply with a series of commitments, resulting in the termination of sanctions on Iran in exchange for certain restrictions on Tehrans nuclear program during a defined period of time.
The United Nations Security Council has also adopted a resolution, endorsing the compact.
