Iran, Belarus sign agreement on fighting terrorism, crime

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Tehran and Minsk inked a cooperation agreement in the hope that judicial ties between the two sides will further promote in the future.

In a meeting in Tehran on Saturday, Irans Prosecutor General Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi and his Belarussian counterpart Alexander Vladimirovich Konyuk reached an agreement for cooperation in the fields of human rights, fight against illicit drugs, organized crimes, and terrorism.

The two judiciary officials expressed the hope that the agreement would further strengthen the ties between the two countries.

During the meeting, Raeisi noted that Tehran-Minsk bilateral relations in political, social, economic, and cultural fields have been developing in recent years.

He further noted that cooperation between Iran and Belarus in the campaign against illicit drugs and organized crimes can be very effective.

Vladimirovich Konyuk, for his part, said that his countrys ties with Iran are set to expand, adding that the agreement made between the two sides will lead to enhancement of mutual interaction and boosting the fight against crimes.

He also invited his Iranian counterpart to pay an official visit to the Eastern European country in the future.

Heading a judiciary delegation, Vladimirovich Konyuk arrived in Iran on Saturday for a two-day visit.
