Tehran, Aug 9, IRNA Minister of Justice Mustafa Pourmohammadi said Sunday that visiting Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Vladimirovich has pledged to return Iranian banks assets and probe the three cases related to Shiite Muslims.
Pourmohammadi made the remarks speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a meeting with the Belarusian official.
Pourmohammadi said that relations between Tehran and Minsk were good and the two countries had broad cooperation until a few years ago that bilateral relations began reducing.
Asked whether this reduction of ties had been as a result of anti-Iran sanctions, Pourmohammadi said that it was partly due to the sanctions and was also affected by internal mechanisms that have created obstacles that have to be removed.
The minister said that the two countries will make use of the opportunity of lifting of sanctions on Iran to promote cooperation.
On the extradition of prisoners between Iran and Belarus, Pourmohammadi said that the two countries have drafted an agreement in this regard that have to be finalized.
