Kyrgyzstan's President Atambayev arrives in Tehran

Tehran, Sept 4, IRNA -- Kyrgyzstan's President Almazbek Atambayev arrived in Tehran on an official invitation of President Hassan Rouhani at the top of a high ranking political-economic delegation aimed at evermore expansion of relations with the Islamic Republic.

During his three-day visit of Iran, President Atambayev is scheduled to meet President Rouhani and other Iranian officials, the two sides will survey ways for expansion of bilateral political, economic and cultural cooperation and sing a number of memoranda of understanding (MOUs).
Among the major issues to be discussed between the two presidents during the Kyrgyz president's visit of Iran there is construction of the infrastructure Iran-Afghanistan-Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway.
Implementing that macro-scale infrastructure project is expected to evolutionize regional cooperation among the countries enroot its path.
President Rouhani had in the year 2013 in his first foreign visit travelled to Bishkek, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan, to participate in Shanghai Cooperation Conference.
Kyrgyzstan is one of the five Central Asian countries bordering with China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
According to latest statistics, the Iran-Kyrgyzstan trade balance stands at about 50 million dollars, which is scheduled to rise to 2.5 billion in near future.
