Iran keen on economic coop. with Bulgaria

TEHRAN, Sep. 14 (MNA) Iranian deputy FM announced on Sunday Iran's willingness to develop economic cooperation and to enhance ties with Bulgaria.


Deputy Foreign Minister for Euro-American Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi made the remarks in a meeting on the latest regional and international developments with Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Valentin Poriazov who is on a visit in Tehran heading a political delegation.

Takht-Ravanchi said that existing historical and cultural commonalties between the two countries necessitate bilateral relations to be expanded and the trade, economic opportunities to be used in line with national interests of both governments.

Pointing to Bulgaria as Iran's traditional friend in Europe, Iranian diplomat said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to develop all-out ties with the country.

Reiterating the importance of persuading private sector of both countries, especially chambers of commerce for development of economic and trade cooperation, he called for regular consultations and exchange of views by the businessmen from the private sectors to prepare the ground for more cooperation.

Poriazov, for his part, felicitated Iran's success in nuclear deal and expressed hope that all sanctions will be lifted.

While expressing willingness to develop ties and 'comprehensive partnership' with Iran, Poriazov said that Bulgaria will commemorate the 120th year of diplomatic ties with Iran next year.

He said that Bulgarian foreign minister intends to visit Iran soon and Bulgaria is ready to hold joint economic commission with seven years delay.
