IAEA will provide a final assessment on Tehrans compliance with nuclear deal by December 15.
NEW YORK (Sputnik) International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will stick tothe timetable outlined inthe nuclear deal, guaranteeing the peaceful nature ofIran's nuclear activities, and will provide a final assessment onTehrans compliance withagreement byDecember 15, the agencys Director General Yukiya Amano said.
The deal agreed byTehran and the six world powers onJuly 14 commits Iran tocomplete the activities underthe Roadmap forClarification ofPast and Present Outstanding Issues byOctober 15. Amano is then required toprovide the IAEAs final assessment byDecember 15.
Our function is toprovide the report. [We expect it] beforethe 15th ofDecember. We can do asagreed, Amano told RIA Novosti Saturday.
He added that afterthe report is released the agencys Board ofGovernors will decide onthe future course ofaction.
If the IAEA's final report says Iran sticks tothe July's agreement, it would pave way forlifting ofthe anti-Iran sanctions conditional onthe nuclear deals implementation.
