Tehran, Oct 9, IRNA � Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif in a message on Friday condoled Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Froces and Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the bereaved family on martyrdom of Brigadier General Hossein Hamedani in Syria on Thursday.

Zarif in the message said the Iranian martyred commander was martyred as he was defending the holy Shrine of the infallible household of Prophet (PBUH).
He said martyrdom of the commander by Takfiri terrorists is a �big loss.�
Iran�s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in a statement on Friday announced martyrdom of Brig. Gen. Hamedani in Syria.
Funeral procession for the martyr will be held on Sunday.
