TEHRAN (FNA)- Secretary of Iran's Expediency Council (EC) Mohsen Rezayee vowed that Iran will crush and burry ISIL Takfiri terrorists in Syria and Iraq to take revenge of the martyrdom of IRGC Commander Brigadier General Hossein Hamadani who was killed in Northern Syria on Thursday.
"General Hamedani was a brave commander of the Islamic fronts who was the flag bearer of the dignity of Islam and Muslims with lifetime activities against the regime of shah, during the Saddam-imposed war and in the fight against terrorists in Iraq and Syria," Rezayee said on Sunday.
"'Our nation is living in peace and must know that hundreds of incidents and conspiracies of enemies threatened our country which were overcome by brave people like Hamadani," he added.
On Saturday, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan underlined that the death of General Hamadani will make his followers and forces more determined to continue his path and crush the terrorists in Syria.
"The comrades and companions of General Hamadani will continue his path and by completely destroying the criminal ISIL Takfiri terrorist group, they will take revenge from the ISIL for all the martyrs of the resistance front as well as the women, children and men who have been killed by the mercenaries of the arrogant powers," General Dehqan said, addressing a mourning ceremony at General Hamadani's house.
The Iranian Defense Minister reiterated that the martyrdom of General Hamadani will open a new chapter in the ongoing fight of the resistance front against the Takfiri terrorists.
General Dehqan reiterated that General Hamadani played an important role in the resistance front and his martyrdom proved the righteousness of the front.
The IRGC in a statement on Friday announced that its war veteran commander had been killed in Northern Syria, while providing military counseling services to the Syrian forces in their fight against the Takfiri terrorists.
Brigadier General Hamadani was martyred during an attack by the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in the outskirts of the city of Aleppo while fulfilling his duty as military advisor and defending the holy Shiite shrines in the country, said the statement.
General Hamadani was in Syria to render military advice to the Syrian army and popular forces in their fight against the ISIL terrorists in the Arab country.
Earlier on Saturday, Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan also vowed a crushing response to terrorists, and said the death of IRGC Commander Brigadier General Hossein Hamadani in Syria will make Tehran more resolute to put an end the war of militancy in Syria.
"The martyrdom of Brigadier General Hamadani reinvigorates our determination to continue his path and take a harsh and strong revenge from the terrorists and their supporters," Brigadier General Pourdastan said in his message.
The Iranian Army Ground Force commander further extended his condolences to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and the family of Brigadier General Hamadani.
