Iranian Justice Minister Mostafa Pourmohammadi said that Iran perceives the United States as a country that supports terrorism and drug trafficking.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) Iran perceives the United States as a country that supports terrorism and drug trafficking, Iranian Justice Minister Mostafa Pourmohammadi said Thursday.
"I want to say that we perceive the United States as country supporting terrorism and spread of narcotic substances," Pourmohammadi said at the meeting with the deputy speaker of the Russian parliament upper chamber, Ilyas Umakhanov.
According to the Iranian minister, since US forces were deployed in Afghanistan in 2001, the volume of drug production saw a 10-fold increase.
"Today, financial support and supply of weapons [to terror groups] are carried out either by the United States or by its allies," he added.
In late October, Irans Deputy Defense Minister Brig. Gen. Nasrallah Kalantari said that the United States and its allies provided conditions for breeding terrorism in the Middle East.
