Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary general of Lebanon�s resistance movement Hezbollah, says the Israeli regime dreads the Palestinian Intifada (uprising).

Nasrallah made the remarks during a Friday address to the Lebanese nation on the issue of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.

Israel is on the frontline of global arrogance and colonialism, Nasrallah said.

The Hezbollah leader also described the Palestinian people as the forerunners of resistance against the Israeli regime.

What is currently happening in Palestine is not an indication of the disappointment and frustration of Palestinians but rather their great faith in resistance and fight against the occupiers, he said.
Nasrallah further criticized certain Arab countries for their failure to support the Palestinian cause.

It is strange that the militants in Afghanistan and Syria are fully supported while Palestinians are not, the Lebanese official emphasized.

The extent of the danger Israel poses to the region has now subsided, Nasrallah said, emphasizing, however, that the regime is still considered a threat to stability in the Middle East.

The developments come amid heightened tensions between Israelis and Palestinians over the past few weeks. Many observers believe that a third Intifada might be occurring.

At least 75 Palestinians have been killed by Israelis in direct confrontations or during protests since the beginning of October.

The Israeli regime�s imposition of restrictions in August on the entry of Palestinian worshipers to the al-Aqsa Mosque in East al-Quds (Jerusalem) triggered the increased tensions in the occupied lands. Palestinians say the Tel Aviv regime seeks to change the status quo of al-Aqsa.

Palestinians are also angry at Israeli extremists, who escorted by army forces, have stepped up their raids on the sensitive site, which is Islam�s third holiest site after Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and Masjid al-Nabawi in Medina.
