Army general warns West not to misuse Paris attacks to wage wars

TEHRAN, Nov. 15 (MNA) A high-ranking general of the army warned US and its European allies against any misuse of Paris terror attacks for pursuing warmongering policies. The comment was made by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Masoud Jazayerifollowing the Friday terrorist attacks in Paris carried out by ISIL which left over 150 people dead and many other injured.

While voicing his strong abhorrence at ISIL atrocities in Paris, Bri. Gen. Jazayeri added the deadly terror attacks in Paris showed that if the French government and other Western and regional supporters of Takfiri terrorism had the necessary wisdom and foresight, they would have predicted the occurrence of such crimes in the heart of Europe.

Since the first months after the terrorist attacks were carried out by ISIL in Syria and neighboring countries, we repeatedly warned the European community that the scourge of terrorism would also catch up withthem, and asked their people to pressure their governments into withdrawing their support for terrorists in the region, he added.

The senior army general said the recent terrorist attacks in Lebanon and France are two sides of one coin, adding the international community expects the supporters of Takfiri terrorists especially the US, France and other western states, to relinquish their contradictory approach and actions toward fighting terrorism and instead adopt a unified and similar position.

Jazayeri added that the French people paid the price for their government's support for the ISIL and the Takfiri terrorism.

The general further warned the US and its allies against misusing the Paris tragic events to pursue wrong and warmongering policies against Muslim states like what they did against Afghanistan and Iraq after the 9/11 attacks in 2001 and 2003, saying if the West continues to support Takfiri terrorism, soon it will have to expect emergency situations in other parts of Europe.
