Tehran-Moscow trade ties growing: Russian minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) The Russian trade minister said volume of bilateral trade between Tehran and Moscow is steadily growing.

The trade turnover between Russia and Iran has been steadily growing, Denis Manturov told The National on Sunday.

The countries (Iran and Russia) are efficiently cooperating in virtually every field including such industries as oil and gas, energy, metallurgy, machine tool technology, engine manufacturing, automotive, vehicles, aircraft production and others, he added.

Manturov further said, "Besides, we are working hard on establishing advanced joint venture projects, engineering centers and industrial parks. We also see excellent opportunities for military and technical cooperation with Iran, just like with any other country in the region."

Earlier, the Kremlins top official for the arms trade said Moscow is eager to strike numerous military contracts worth multibillion dollars with Iran once anti-Tehran sanction are lifted.

"When all restrictions and all sanctions are lifted, I think we will have a rather serious development in the sphere of military-technical cooperation, it partially now embraces items not covered by sanctions, and we hope for very large projects in the future," Vladimir Kozhin, President Vladimir Putins aide on military-technical cooperation, said on Sunday.

Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehrans nuclear program.

The comprehensive nuclear deal between Iran and the six powers would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force, and help the country return to the global market.

Experts believe that Irans economic growth would rise remarkably after the final nuclear deal takes effect.
