Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati says in some film festivals such as Oscars decisions to keep some movies in contention for the awards are politically motivated.


He further said the decision not to whittle down Iran's Muhammad: The Messenger of God may be motivated by political and religious questions. "We need to wait and learn about the behind-the-scenes reasons."
