Tehran, December 23, The Iran Project- Top Iranian cleric urges all Muslim ulema to take the leadership role in efforts to support Shia Muslims across the world.
Speaking in a meeting with the organizing committee of International Congress to celebrate Isa Qassim, Bahrains leading Shia cleric, Grand Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani noted the importance of the Bahrain crisis, saying that the US backed kingdom of Bahrain has committed many crimes.
Highlighting the role of Bahrain in the history of Shia, he stressed that Islam is the religion of Jihad and this is why Shia clerics should take leading role in the protest against cruelty.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he demanded all Muslim ulema to take effective action against Islam enemies, expressing the readiness for his part to wear shrouds in order to show solidarity with the Bahraini protesters.
In concluding part of his remarks, he pointed the lessons learned from the anti-Shah protests before the Islamic Revolution when clerics had taken effective role in leading the struggles to overthrow the Pahlavi government.
