Tehran, Dec 24, IRNA Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in a meeting with Energy Minister of Iran and co-chair of the Armenian-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission, Hamid Chitchian on Thursday said Yerevan attaches great importance to its relations with friendly Tehran.
Sargsyan greeted the guest and the delegation led by him, mentioning with satisfaction that the timetable of the sessions of the Armenian-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission are never postponed, Armenpress reported quoting official sources.
Precisely one year after the previous session, the 13th session is held in Yerevan.
Sargsyan hoped that the agenda of bilateral cooperation has further enriched due to the session of the commission, and that new agreements have been reached.
He attached great importance to the Armenian-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission and the personal contribution of the co-chair of the commission, Energy Minister of Iran Chitchian.
Emphasizing that Armenia attaches great importance to the relations with friendly Iran, Armenian president said that the frank dialogue and mutual trust between the two states suggests that the dynamics of the mutual visits will be preserved aimed at further expanding and developing the bilateral agenda of the cooperation.
The interlocutors attached particular importance to the necessity of fostering trade relations and fully utilizing the great potential in that sphere.
Sargsyan and Chitchian discussed in detail the implementation process of joint projects of great interest for Iran, including the implementation process of infrastructural projects.
The two sides also discussed opportunities for new projects and mutually beneficial investments.
They also referred to issues about regional cooperation. In that context, they expressed satisfaction over the fact that North-South energetic project becomes a reality which supposes a parallel work between the respective agencies of Iran, Armenia, Georgia and Russia.
In Irans Energy Ministers opinion, the quadripartite meeting between responsible agencies of the countries that took place on Wednesday was an important and effective step in terms of solidarity among these regional states and stimulates a new quality to both bilateral and multilateral cooperation formats, Armenpress reported.
