UN coordinator calls Iran to share scientific achievements with world

Tehran, January 18, The Iran Project UN Resident Coordinator says Iran can share the research and scientific achievements with the world after the JCPOA implementation.

On the sidelines of his visit to theScience And Research Branch ofIslamic Azad University in Tehran on Monday, Gary Lewis, the UN Resident Coordinator in Iran noted the JCPOA positive effects on Iran's expansion of international and scientific ties, stating that Iran can share its scientific achievements with the world.

Referring to Iran and the United Nations cooperation in environmental issues, he highlighted the satisfying level of cooperation between Iran and the UN to improve the environment situations in Iran.

"Iran can share its scientific and research accomplishments with the world, benefiting two sides from the interactions," he stressed, adding the need to consider the environment as a top priority in Iran.

Elsewhere in this meeting, Majid Abbaspour, the head of environment and energy faculty of the University expressed Iran's willing to establish contacts with the other countries, underlining that expansion of ties with the United Nations is a top priority for the university management.

Earlier on Monday, Gary Lewis released a statement, calling the JCPOA implementation day as a "historic moment" in many senses.
