Rouhani: Iran safest, most stable country in region

Rome, Jan 26, IRNA President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that Iran is the safest and most stable country in the region, does not intend to invade any country or interfere in any country's internal affairs, and strongly safeguards its territorial integrity.

'Investment laws and regulations in Iran are trustworthy and Iran has never and under no circumstances breached its commitments to the international community, the other countries and their private sectors,' said President Rouhani in a meeting with a group of Italian merchants, industrialists and economic activists.

He said that the Iranians have a great and shining culture and civilization, just like the Italians and praised the European Union for the role it has played in the nuclear negotiations' success.

'Everyone realized that success of the win-win talks would be to the benefit of all and our meeting here today is actually one of the signs of the success of the negotiations and the end of the sanctions, which has paved the way for investments, transfer of technology, and aiming for new joint export markets,' added Rouhani.

He said that economy is a two-way road in which no country can expect the other country's investors to sacrifice, invite them to a country and not ensure the security of their investments, or not ensure them about just interests for their investments.
'Such investments cannot be counted on in the long run. It goes without saying that investments in a foreign country need to be beneficial for both sides,' he said.

President Rouhani meanwhile ensured the Italian economic activists that the Iranians have always been a hospitable nation and treated their guests most respectfully.

'The conditions in Iran in addition to security are quite exceptional in the region,' he added.

The president said that the post-sanctions era provided lots of vacancies for economic capacities of the country, which are vacant today, but a year from now the conditions will definitely differ.
'Today we have vacant capacities in our economy and the Iranian economy is virgin,' he added.
