Tehran, Jan 28, IRNA - Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said holding the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) would help countries tackling the terrorism.
Talking to reporters upon his arrival from Iraq in Tehran Mehrabad Airport, Larijani described the conference as positive.
Larijani informed of proper negotiations with officials of Turkey, Pakistan, Somali and Mali on the sidelines of the conference.
Larijani returned home from Iraq on Wednesday evening winding up a four-day visit to the neighboring country to attend an Islamic parliamentary conference in Baghdad and to meet Iraqi officials.
In addition to meeting counterparts from Turkey, Pakistan, Syria and Mali on the sidelines of the 11th conference of the PUIC, he also conferred Iraqi president, prime minister, and speaker on bilateral issues and regional developments.
The conference was attended by delegations from 45 Islamic countries to discuss major regional issues, including terrorism and security.
During this trip Larijani also visited holy shrines in Iraq.
