Moscow, Feb3, IRNA -- Head of Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati called on distinguished Iranian and Russian researchers and thinkers to play a valuable role in the broadening of bilateral ties.
'Iranian and Russian researchers and thinkers should play an important role the expansion of mutual cooperation,' Velayati said in a meeting with Russia's renowned researchers and executives in Moscow on Wednesday.
Elsewhere, he said that the era of domination of a single country over the others is now over.
The current problems in the world have roots in unilateralism policy and Iran and Russia through collective cooperation can strike a balance at global level, he said.
Iran and Russia have common strategic relations and interests and should seize the existing opportunities to broaden mutual ties and cooperation, he said.
Iran and Russia should put on their agenda expansion of economic cooperation with Asian and non-western countries to further expedite their economic and political development, Velayati said.
Russia has a prominent status in Iran's foreign policy, Velayati said, adding that expansion of all-out political, defense, commercial, trade, investment and technological fields along with other issues leave positive impacts on regional and international cooperation.
Iran and Russia are determined to adopt a unified stand in dealing with global threats and establishment of strategic relations will be effective in this regard, Velayati said.
