Iran's University of Science and Technology is to unveil the educational platform of "the internet of things" duringa ceremony on Sunday in Tehran, introducing itself as the fifth university in the world offering this academic field.
The unveiling ceremony is reportedly due to be held at the Electronic Research Center of the University of Science and Technology with the participation of the university, Telecommunication Company of Iran (TCI) and another Iranian engineering Company.
As a network of physical objects, the internet of things (IoT) enables the items such as devices, vehicles, buildings and others to collect and exchange data. This technology allows the objects to be monitored and controlled remotely through a computer based system, resulting in benefits in economy and other areas.
