Tehran, Tokyo cultural interaction will improve: Minister

Tehran, Feb 16, IRNA Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Ali Jannati and Japanese Prime Minister's Special Advisor Katsuyuki Kawai welcomed the vast capacities for mutual cooperation, calling for cultural and artistic interaction between Tehran and Tokyo.


During a meeting, Jannati said that one of the areas of cooperation pertaining to his ministry is collaboration in the field of cinematic films.
Iranian TV has broadcast most Japanese films in 1980s, Jannati said, noting that the possibility for mutual cooperation between the two countries exists today.
The Iranian minister also stressed the need for media cooperation between the two countries.

Kawai referred to the role of cultural interaction in strengthening bilateral ties, saying that not only the leaders but also the nations play a crucial role in this regard.

He announced the Japanese prime minister's visit to Iran in future and called for organizing Iranian cultural programs in his country.
Describing Iran as a country with ancient civilization, he said that Tehran and Tokyo can undertake joint ventures in different fields including culture.
