Zarif: Iran most democratic country in West Asia
Wellington, New Zealand, March 14, IRNA - Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said here on Monday that Iran is the most stable and most democratic country in West Asia.

Zarif made the remarks in meeting in New Zealand Middle East Business Council in Wellington.

He also briefed Iran's economic potentials during the meeting.

'The Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys vast potentials in human resources, communication and trade facilities, tourism, agriculture, nanotechnology, oil, gas and petrochemical industry,' Zarif said.

He also invited New Zealanders businessmen to make investment in Iran big market.

The ways for expanding all-out mutual cooperation also were discussed during the meeting.

Zarif arrived in New Zealand capital, Wellington early Saturday as the fifth leg of his Asia-Pacific tour. He wrapped up his official two-day trip to Thailand and set off for New Zealand Friday evening.

The Iranian minister started his six-nation tour last Sunday and has visited Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei and Thailand. He is scheduled to visit Australia on the last leg of his tour.

On February 19, New Zealand lifted its sanctions against Iran following the implementation of Tehran's nuclear agreement with world powers, dubbed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
