Vietnamese call for academic coop. with IAU

TEHRAN, Mar. 16 (MNA) Visiting Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training Ph?m V? Lu?n paid a visit to the headquarters of the IAU in Tehran and met with the president of the Iranian university.


The IAU (Islamic Azad University of Iran) intends to expand its international endeavors and open new branches in different countries for extending international academic cooperation in realm of exchanging professors, students, and the results of scientific researches, said Hamid Mirzadeh, the President of the Islamic Azad University of Iran while receiving visiting Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training, Ph?m V? Lu?n, in Tehran.

Voicing readiness for developing cooperation with Vietnamese universities and scientific centers, Mirzadeh added that scientific interaction and cooperation will lay the ground for further ties between the two countries.

During the same meeting, Ph?m V? Lu?n, the Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training, hailed the size of the university which enjoys 400 branches created over the course of 30 years.

We share a lot of commonalities with Iranians as both Iranians and the Vietnamese were stuck in lasting wars and stood firmly in face of the global arrogant, highlighted the Vietnamese minister describing the achievements of the IAU as expectable in the light of the historical and cultural background of Iran.

Discontent with the limited scale of current educational ties between the two countries, Lu?n urged for expansion of ties fit to the extent of potentials.

Iran is the top priority of Vietnam for developing educational ties with middle-easterners, reaffirmed Mr. Lu?n hoping that boost in academic and cultural cooperation lead to more interactions between the two nations in all areas.

At the end of the meeting the two officials agreed to have their representatives draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which would outline the protocol of joint programs for exchanging professors, students, and scientific experience.
