Tehran, March 24, IRNA Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and North Africa Mikhail Bogdanov on Thursday underlined the need for durable ceasefire, stern campaign against terrorism and Syria-Syria dialogue.
In a phone conversation, the two sides also discussed latest developments in Syria and Yemen.
They highlighted 'positive' importance of the Geneva talks on Syria and underlined unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria.
They appreciated efforts of the UN Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Syria Staffan de Mistura and emphasized the vital role of Syrian people in deciding their fate.
They condemned any foreign intervention in Syria.
On Yemen, the two officials hoped that the UN efforts will result in stop of war and ceasefire in the country. They also expressed hope that humanitarian assistance will be offered to Yemeni people in proportion to the depth of human catastrophe there.
Amir-Abdollahian pointed to continued detention and revoking of nationality of Bahraini citizens as well as violation of human rights in Bahrain and underlined stopping inefficient security strategy, while highlighting necessity of national dialogue through democratically distinguished methods.
