US company asks to buy Iran petrochemical products

Tehran, April 19, IRNA Managing director of Abadan Petrochemical Complex announced that a reputable US company has asked to buy Iran's petrochemical products.

Talking to IRNA, Massoud Jebraeili said he cannot name the company till the end of bilateral talks on the issue.

Then, the US company, through its branch in Europe, will buy petrochemical products from Iran, Jebraeili said.

The US company is active in providing material for petrochemicals, said he, adding it has asked for Iran's polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Serious talks on petrochemicals exchange between the two will be held soon, he added.

After announcement of 'Implementation Day' of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and lifting of anti-Iran sanctions on January 16, obstacles to ways of cooperation with the reputable world companies have been removed, the official said.

Due to concerns in the US over having direct relations with Iran, some American companies hold talks on cooperation through their branches in different world countries, he added.
