TEHRAN, Apr. 30 (MNA) Irans Mohammadreza Barari managed to snatch gold in the 2016 Asian Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Demonstrating eye-catching athletic skills at 105kg weight category, Mohammadreza Barari lifted 180kg in the snatch as well as 221kg in clean and jerk finishing first in the Asian event with a total of 401kg.
In the same category, Uzbek weightlifter Ivan Efremov secured a total of 394kg with 183kg in snatch and 211kg in clean and jerk in order to finish runner-up.
Meanwhile, the bronze medal was bagged by another weightlifter of the host country who did 181 in snatch and 218kg in clean and jerk giving a total of 386kg.
Kia Ghadami, Irans other representative at 105kg category, landed fourth with a total of 376kg.
Previously, Seyyed Ayoub Mousavi (85kg) and Ali Hashemi (94kg) had won silver medal for Iran.
The Asian Weightlifting Championships is a weightlifting championship organized by the Asian Weightlifting Federation for competitors from the Asian countries with the 2016 edition being held in Tashkent of Uzbekistan between April 22 and April 30.
