TEHRAN, Apr. 30 (MNA) Iranian researchers managed to make polymer-ceramic nanocomposites through the synthesis of ceramic nanoparticles.
The growing popularity in the new technologies and the industrialization of lives have highlighted the need for utilization of energy storage systems with higher capacity, lower weight and price, so that the use of electronic equipment would be available at any place and time.
Hence, supercapacitors are designed with the features of high importance. Today, the extensive research has been made to produce new compounds to replace expensive materials such as Ruthenium Oxide as a common supercapacitor throughout the world.
The project manager, Ali Ehsani, said the research work has sought to build affordable ceramic nanoparticles, in order to produce polymer-ceramic nanocomposites in supercapacitors with better efficiency.
Ehsani went on to express the achievements of the project, noting that the synthesis of yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) powders nanoparticles by electrochemical method as an advanced, ecological ceramic material has made the supercapacitors with simple and cost-effective ways.
High mechanical stability, high energy storage capacity, low weight and high flexibility are among other benefits of supercapacitors produced through the use of nanoparticles in their design, Ehsani added.
Given the energy crisis, Ehsani noted, the use of the nanocomposites can be very important to expand the use of non-fossil and clean energy systems.
The nanocomposites are used in the production of supercapacitors, Ehsani stated, adding that the produced supercapacitors have high energy storage capacity, low cost and simpler manufacturing capability.
