One of the topics for the discussion at the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) meeting in Vienna will be the settlement of the situation around Aleppo, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Tuesday.
VIENNA (Sputnik) The International Syria Support Group meeting has begun inAustrias capital ofVienna.
"Today we will focus onhow toguarantee the ceasefire conditions. And this concerns not only the city of Aleppo, butthe whole area aroundit," Steinmeier told reporters.
There was a relatively slack period inpast three months inSyria, he noted.
"We have seen that inthe regions that were completely cut-off fromsupplies, once again the possibility tosend special transport reemerged. However, not all ofthe territories have been made available forhumanitarian missions [access]," Steinmeier added.
The ISSG, co-chaired byMoscow and Washington, was formed inNovember 2015, shortly afterthe beginning ofthe Syria peace talks, asa panel ofcountries seeking toend bloodshed inSyria. The European Union, the Arab League, China, Iran, Turkey, and the United Nations are also members ofthe group.
