Iranian, British FMs discuss trend of JCPOA implementation in Vienna

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his British counterpart Phillip Hammond in a meeting in Vienna on Tuesday discussed the latest developments in the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the nuclear deal.

During the meeting on the sidelines of an international meeting on Syria in the Austrian capital today, the two top diplomats called for the expansion of bilateral relations and reviewed the status-quo of JCPOA implementation.

Regional crises, including situation in Syria and their humanitarian side effects, were among the topics discussed by the two top diplomats.

Zarif is heading a high-ranking delegation to Vienna where he is slated to attend a two-day international conference on Syria and Libya on Tuesday and Wednesday.

While in Vienna, the Iranian delegation is to hold separate talks with European and American participants of the meeting on Syria, to discuss elimination of the obstacles hindering the implementation of the JCPOA.

The meeting is to be attended by 17 members of the International Syria Support Group and co-chaired by the United States and Russia. The European Union and Arab League countries also participate the meeting along with Turkey, Iran and China.
