TEHRAN, May 23 (MNA) President of World Citizen Organization has estimated 83 percent urbanization by 2045 for Iran during International Conference on Urban Economy.
Dr. Kwak Young Hoon addressed the Conference on Monday where he told the meeting that urban population in Asia was 2.1 billion, which accounted for 48 percent of the continents population; it would reach to 3.2 billion people, that is, 62 percent of Asia population; 58.3 million of Iranian population lived in cities in 2015, which accounted for 73 percent of Irans population; it will reach to 82 percent by 2045 , that is, 83 percent of total population that would be 98.9 million then, he said.
Economic development should consider environment, education, energy, engineering, and ethics; the time has changed and history has ushered a new era of technology and hi-tech commodities of living, Hoon told the conference. Sustainable development and green space should be considered in new urbanization trend.
The first international Conference on Urban Economy, with the major theme of Resistance Economy; Implementation and Action, was held in Tehran on May 19.
