Ashkhane, north Khorasan, June 13, IRNA � Iranian and German excavators will jointly conduct seven-year excavations at cultural heritage site of Mane and Samalghan district, north Khorasan province.


Director General of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) in North Khorasan Mohammad Soveidanlouee told IRNA on Monday that the area has a variety of architecture dating back to different periods of ancient times.

A new city has been unearthed on northeastern Iran with signs of Achaemenid civilization, he said.

He said that the studies about civilization and identity of the cultural sites will help uphold the tourist attractions of the area.

The city of Mane and Samalghan is located 45 kilometer west of Bojnourd.
