TEHRAN (Tasnim) Irans Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli assured the nation of the necessary security arrangements his ministry has made for the countrywide late-night vigils in the holy month of Ramadan.

Mr. Rahmani Fazli said on Saturday that the security forces have full control over the situation, noting that religious ceremonies in the month of Ramadan over the past days have been held without any security problem.

Highlighting the major role of people in averting the incidents, the minister asked people to report any suspicious case to the Police or other security units.

Muslim people of Iran hold late-night vigils all over the country on three special nights in the holy month of Ramadan to mark Lailat-al-Qadr, one of the most significant hallmarks of Ramadan, also known as the Night of Destiny.

While many neighbors of Iran are gripped by security problems and have witnessed deadly terrorist attacks, Iran enjoys high level of security thanks to the efforts made by the security forces.

Last week, Irans Intelligence Ministry said its agents have thwarted a major plot by the Takfiri-Wahhabi groups for several terrorist attacks in Tehran and a number of other provinces, with terrorists arrested and a large amount of bombs and explosive material confiscated.

Later on Tuesday, Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alawi said a series of operations to arrest the terrorists had begun on June 14 and continued until June 20.

According to the minister, the terrorists had masterminded different operations including planting bombs, detonation of remote control bombs, suicide attacks, and blowing up explosive-laden vehicles.

The terrorists wanted to carry out bombing raids in crowded locations, and had located 50 targets, the minister explained, saying they had even prepared the explosive material for some of the attacks and were preparing or receiving some for the others.
