TEHRAN, Jul. 06 (MNA) Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has announced a serious attempt to join the international nuclear fusion research and engineering megaproject.
Ali Akbar Salehi told reporters on Wednesday that technical module of the nuclear issues had been progressing; "in my last week visit to Paris, we discussed possibilities of Iran's joining to ITER, and the other members welcomed a prospective Iran membership," he added.
Salehi did not provided further details, however promised more progress in technical part of the issue.
34 countries joined in a project in Aix-en-Provence, France in country's Cadarachefacility, a scientific research center which specializes innuclear powerresearch. It is the greatest scientific project on the planet which focuses on processes emulating mechanisms which lead to energy generation in the sun. ITER aims at generation of cost-effective and environmentally-friendly through nuclear fusion in an advanced nuclear reactor.
