Iranian tennis players have delivered fine performances at the 2016 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group III currently underway in Tehran, and overwhelmed opponents from the Pacific Oceania.
On Monday,the first day of the event in Tehrans Enghelab Sports Complex, 35-year-old Iranian sportsman Anousha Shahgholi clinched a 6-1 victory over Heve Kelley in the first set.
The Iranian athlete maintained the lead in the second set, and asserted clear dominance on the court by means of some cracking balls, whichthe 19-year-old Pacific Oceania competitor could not leap to defend. Shahgholi claimed the second set by 6 points to 4 at last.
Later in the day, Irans Shahin Khaledan took on William O Connell in another individual challenge, and led 6-1 in the first set.
The Iranian tennis player kept his laudable mental and physicalskillslater on, and pulled offa 6-1 win in the second period.

Irans Davis Cup team will take on Hong Kong side on Wednesday evening.
The 2016 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group III started in Tehran, Iran, on July 11, and will wrap up on July 16.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has been drawn in Group A alongside Hong Kong, Pacific Oceania and Turkmenistan. Cambodia, Lebanon, Singapore, Syria and Qatar are in Group B.
The Iranian outfit consists of Anousha Shahgholi, Shahin Khaledan, Amir Vala-Madanchi and Mohammad Kargaran-Orouji.
