TEHRAN, Jul. 13 (MNA) Iran's VP for Science and Technology, Sattari, met with visiting Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister, Donchev, on Tuesday in Tehran.
"There are massive opportunities of cooperation between Iran and Bulgaria in areas of science and technology, and realizing knowledge economy is one of the areas that the current administration is after," said Iranian Vice President for Science and Technology, Sorena Sattari, in his meeting with Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister, Tomislav Donchev, on Tuesday in Tehran.
He made the remarks referring to the growing relations of Iran-Bulgaria after the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was reached by Iran-Sextet on July 14, 2015.
The meeting took place on the sideline of the visit made by Boyko Borissov, Bulgarian Prime Minister, who headed a Bulgarian delegation to Tehran. The Bulgarian envoy arrived in Iranian capital city in a bid to develop ties with the energy giant of the world in post sanctions era.
Boasting that there are currently more than 1000 research institutes in Iran running, Sattari highlighted the number of 2500 knowledge companies in Iran and entrepreneurial events which contribute to the market.
"Nano-technology, bio-technology, IT, stem cells, are the fields of great progresses for Iranians, and the major companies of these areas in the region are Iranian," articulated the Iranian official.
The Bulgarian side, also in this meeting, voiced content with visit to Tehran and the meeting with VP Sattari. Donchev briefed his Iranian interlocutor with potentials of Bulgaria and the areas of Bulgarians' strengths like industry and car manufacturing.
Donchev said that Bulgaria is heavily investing on science and technology parks and called for more focus on IT as the common ground of cooperation betwenn Tehran and Bucharest.
The Bulgarian Deputy PM urged forming a joint commission to speed up scientific cooperation between the two countries and Sattari agreed to introduce the best of Iranians in bio-technology, nano-technology, and ICT to the Bulgarian delegation.
