Munich, July 23, IRNA A senior Iranian diplomat here early Saturday urged the Iranians residing in Munich to keep calm and get the latest news from German mass media following the shooting at a major shopping center in this southern city in Germany.
The Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Munich Abdollah Nekounam also asked Iranians to be in contact with the Iranian Consulate in Munich in case of any incidents.
Nekounam underscored that the Consulate in Munich has not received any report on any incident happening to Iranian citizens in this German city.
Around 5,000 Iranians live in the city of Munich and 15,000 in the province of Bayern
At least ten people have been killed in a shooting at Munich.
According to the Munich police spokesman Thomas Baumann, the shooting took place at a fast food restaurant at the Munich Olympia Shopping Center shortly before 6 p.m. local time (1600 GMT) on Friday.
Sixteen others were also injured in the shooting, which police described as a terrorist attack.
It has been said that the shooter was a hyphenated German.
