Shooting attack in Munich not linked with Daesh

Shooting attack in Munich not linked with Daesh
TEHRAN (Tasnim) The chief of Bavarian police said on Saturday that a recent shooting attack in Munich had no links to Daesh (ISIL).

"The shooter was 18 years old, he was born and grew up in Munich. He was a school student, a search has been conducted in his apartment, in the room where he lived. The search exposed no links to Daesh," Andrae said during the press conference organized by the N-24 broadcaster on Saturday, Sputnik News reported.

"There is no indication that in addition to the criminal who committed suicide, there were others involved in the events on Friday. From our point of view, it is clear that we are dealing with a lone wolf," he added.

At least 10 people were killed and 27 injured, the chief said. Four of the 27 injured people have shot wounds.

"A total of 10 people were shot dead and 27 more were wounded with 10 people, including a teenager, sustaining grave injuries," Munich police chief Hubertus Andrae told journalists at the press conference.

Despite the previous reports, the attack has no connection to the refugee crisis, the chief said. Shooter was born and grew up in Bavaria, he added.

"The shooter is absolutely unrelated to the issue of migrants," chief police concluded.

Bavaria prosecutors' office spokesman said that the shooter had no criminal record, but he was in psychiatric and medical care. During the raid of the suspect shooter's room, police found a book on shootings: "Rampage in Head: Why Students Kill".

Parents of the suspect shooter were unable to help police with investigation due to shock.

The chief of the State Criminal Police said that shooter did not have a license to own the gun, so he used a glock pistol. The suspect shooter also had 300 bullers in a backpack.

The prosecutor office confirmed that the shooter shot himself, but no suicide note has been found yet.

According to police, the shooter was an 18-year-old German of Iranian origin. His motives remain unknown.
