Tehran, July 24, IRNA Director of the public relations department of Iran Civil Aviation Organization Reza Jafarzadeh said on Wednesday that agreements of Iran Air with Airbus and Boeing are still valid and no change has been made.

Jafarzadeh made the remarks in response to recent news reports about possibility of cancellation of contracts between Iran Air and the two leading aircraft manufacturers.

Noting that no contracts have been signed yet, the official said that the agreements are still valid and both sides remain committed to their undertakings.

He said that the minister of roads and urban development and the country's foreign ministry are following up the case.

Based on a draft deal signed by Iran Air and Airbus, the Iranian national flag carrier is to buy 118 planes from the giant French aircraft manufacturer on rent-to-own basis.

Iran Air has reached another draft agreement with Boeing based on which it is going to buy more than 100 planes from the US aircraft manufacturer. The value of the contract has been estimated at $17 billion.
