Abuja, July 25, IRNA Foreign Ministers of Iran and Nigeria on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding on devising a mechanism for political dialogue between the two countries.
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with his Nigerian counterpart Geoffrey Onyeama on Monday.
The foreign minister delivered a speech to Iran-Nigeria Economic and Trade Cooperation Commission.
Zarif also met with Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari where they discussed enhanced cooperation and expansion of Tehran-Abuja ties.
Iranian foreign minister began his tour of Western Africa at the head of an economic and political delegation on Sunday.
Zarif arrived in Nigeria on the first leg of his African tour which will later take him to Ghana, Conakry Guinea and Mali.
