TEHRAN, Jul. 26 (MNA) Taban Air CEO has announced the operation of a new flight path between Tehran and Russias Astrakhan.
Founder and CEO of Taban Air Airline Company Asghar Abdollahpour made the announcement saying the airline will operate flights once a week on a regular basis in order to facilitate commutes of Iranian and Russian businessmen.
The flight leaves Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA) every Saturday at 13:30 Tehran local time while the return plane trip will be launched on the same day from Astrakhan Narimanovo Airport (ASF) at 16:00 Astrakhan local time, said the official.
He underscored that Airbus aircraft will be utilized for the route and in time with the opening of the new air path, a conference on development of trade relations between Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the major Russian port will be held in Astrakhan.
Establishment of the new air journey between Tehran and Astrakhan pursues several important objectives including elevation of trade volume between the two sides, escalation of non-oil export to the Russian port as well as exchange of business delegations between the two countries, said Abdollahpour.
Taban Air CEO further noted that the air route has been created in line with the development of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and neighboring countries.
Astrakhan is a city in Russia, the capital of the Astrakhan region, located about 1,411 km southeast of Moscow. The city is an important railway hub, sea and river port.
The city lies on two banks of the Volga River, close to where it discharges into the Caspian Sea at an altitude of 28 meters below sea level.
Enjoying rich mineral resources including oil and gas, Astrakhan region contains a myriad of industries like fuel and energy, machine building, food industry, construction materials, chemical and petrochemical industries, woodworking, glass, printing as well as medical industries.
