Iranian archer lands 49th in ranking round

TEHRAN, Aug. 06 (MNA) Irans female archer Zahra Nemati has finished 49th in the Women's Individual Ranking Round.


The only archer representing Irans convoy at the 2016 Olympic Games faced competitors on Friday to determine her initial ranking.

Accordingly, Nemati stood in the 49th place in the ranking round while eliminations and main sections of the archery event at Rio Olympics are scheduled to take place today August 6 in Sambdromo.

Member of Iran's Para Archery national team Zahra Nemati had secured a historic space for Iran at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in addition to receiving quotas to Rio Paralympic Games.

Attracting more than 10 thousand athletes from 206 countries, the 31st edition of Summer Olympic Games is underwayin Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from August 05-31.

The Iranian sports caravan managed to bag 12 medals (4 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze) in the 2012 edition of the sportive extravaganza which was hosted by London.
