Five major arms depots destroyed by Russia's Tu-22M3 and Su-34 were used to supply Daesh militants near Aleppo, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
Russia's Ministry ofDefense confirmed Tuesday that it had deployed Tu-22M3 bombers and Su-34 strike fighters inIran and these have already carried outairstrikes againstterrorists inSyria.
"On August 16, 2016, Tu-23M3 long-range bombers and Su-34 bombers, having taken offfrom their base inHamadan [Islamic Republic ofIran], carried outgroup airstrikes againsttargets belonging toIslamic State and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist groups inthe provinces ofAleppo, Deir ez-Zor and Idlib," the ministry said ina statement.
Russian bombers also destroyed three militant command points and training camps inSyria's Serakab, Al-Bab, Aleppo and Deir Ez-Zor, killing "a significant number" ofmilitants, according tothe ministry.
